On January 4, 1966, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the official opening of the meeting of the statesmen of Pakistan and India with the participation of the Russian Prime-Minister Kosyigin took place. On the Indian part, there was Prime-Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri who was accompanied by Mr. Chandrika Srivastava (Sir C.P.). The negotiations lasted till January 10 and resulted in signing Tashkent Declaration. This meeting was described in Sir C.P.'s book.
